  • Ballard Designs poor quality, horrible customer service

    Wow, lesson learned, do not order from Ballard Designs. They have the worst customer service ever. We ordered a corner cabinet for our living room. The doors of the cabinet were so poorly constructed, they would not close properly. So, we had to go through the hassle of taking the doors back to the store and ordering an entirely new cabinet. In addition, I ordered an upholstered chair in September, that was supposed be completed and delivered by mid November, in time for Thanksgiving.     My husband purchased Sarah Closet Furniture for me for Christmas. The tall and short shoe racks are fine, but the drawers have been a huge issue and no one at Ballard Designs has any idea what good customer service is. We are in the process of having the THIRD set of drawers shipped to us.The first two arrived either damaged or defective. Each time you call, or email you get a different person who apologizes for the inconvenience, but does NOTHING to help you.   • Multiple missteps with furniture

    Tossed the catalog in the trash today when it arrived. Used to be a good source. Now their products all seem to come from overseas - damaged before packing - delivery non-communication, and refusal to refund. My sister bought a headboard with a little bird on it. It came right on schedule - oh boy! Packing in perfect order. Big crack in the center panel from someone at the factory stepping on it, cracking the panel, then packing and shipping anyway.   • Sofa and Love Seat that were extremely poor quality

    Helen Weeks, the founder should be ashamed of the poor quality of their sofas and love seats that they sell, and even more ashamed of their client service. We purchased a Baldwin sofa and Baldwin on 9/7/10 for $2,474.93. The support frame and support springs fell apart. After much complaining they were replaced in July 2012. The same thing occurred with the replacement items and had to stuff the sofa with bed pillows so we would not hurt our backs. We asked for a refund or replacement or refund on 4/15/14.   • Ballard designs slow service

    I ordered two arm chairs Dec 16. On dec 17! I called to alter the fabric choice. I spoke with someone who did this for me. Three weeks later I was advised my order was cancelled. I called them and was advised that once an order is placed that changes could not be made. Why the person on the phone 3 weeks earlier didnt tell me this is beyond me. I had to redo the order and get another order number. So a 3 week delay. For an item expected to be delivered in two months, I am still waiting.   • French Court Coir Mat

    I purchased this attractive mat less than one year ago%u2026unfortunately, it has worn very poorly. First, the diamond pattern was not clear because the coirs straggled onto the black diamond and the mat always looked messy. Despite trying to sweep away the stray coirs, the mat still looked unattractive. The color did not wear well%u2026..mat is now faded despite the fact that it is under a covered front porch.   • Canadians NOT welcome

    Contrary to the boast on its website, Ballard Designs does NOT ship to Canada - at least not with any semblance of rationality. Placed a large order 3 weeks ago. Was promised a shipping quote ASAP. 5 follow-up phone calls and almost 2 weeks later, I finally received it. It was astronomically high, so I amended the order to remove the bulky, over-sized item. Waited more than a week for revised quote and it never came. Called BD to follow up and revised order never sent to shipping for a quote! Staff unhelpful, incompetent and unapologetic.   • Add incompetence to the Worst Customer Service you Can Imagine

    I ordered bedroom furniture from Ballard Designs - The high profile Casa Florentina l Collection. Real Special turned out to be real trouble , and eventually became absurd! A waste of, time and energy, and a BIG STRESS. After delivering part of the order to the wrong address, and being unable to get it right despite multiple phone calls and efforts by the consumer, the order was cancelled.   • Bad Bad Bad

    After ordering some stocked fabric online from Ballard Designs on 24 October I expected a simple transaction. That was certainly not the case. Ballard Designs do not have a secure online payment system for overseas clients. However after giving them my credit card number was advised that the fabric would be despatched shortly. The shipping dept (Cornerstone shipping) quoted a delivery to Canada I pointed out that I was in Australia so they confirmed Canada again but Ballard Designs said they had my address in Australia but the knuckleheads in the shipping dept didn't know Australia...   • Inappropriate Business practices and Poor Customer Service

    I made my first order ever with Ballard Designs - two sofas to be delivered. They were not supposed to ship until July 11 but apparently shipped ahead. Not typically a problem except that I was on vacation the week ahead and when Ballard did not reach me at my office number they escalated all the way to our business continuity office to try to get a direct emergency number.   • Customer Abuse by Ballard Design

    I placed an order for an IN STOCK sofa in August. (My receipt has proof of status)After 2 weeks of silence I called for delivery status and my 60 day, 30 hour nightmare began. Customer Service Managers (I spoke to 11)misinformed me ( a polite way of saying they lied to me), didn't follow up, dropped the ball, made excuses (it was the vendors fault) until finally it was too late to pull my order and shop with someone else.After threatening a lawsuit they finally shipped my order.   • Do Not Order From Them

    This was by far the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. I recommend never orderning from Ballard Designs. Nothing they have is worth the hassle I went through. I was shipped the wrong order twice by the vendor and weeks later I still do not have a comforter for my bed. One of the customer service reps I talked to was extremely rude and I still have the wrong comforter in my closet as I am waiting for the vendor to issue a UPS label so I can drive it across town to be returned yet again.
